Anyways, I was super excited about finding these new kicks (for a bargain price at DSW!), since my old running shoes were in pretty sad shape. Somehow having new sneakers seems to motivate me just a little more to go running. That combined with this crazy nice weather we're been having, and suddenly I'm Maniac Magee. Despite the claims that this book "addresses issues of racism and homelessness", the only thing I ever recall is that the main character runs around constantly.
